3.0 Software... Good Stuff

Installed 3.0 (1,2_3.0_7A341) and it's pretty nice. Landscape email and copy and paste make it the best update (IMHO) thus far. I officially have no need for the GS after this update. Runs nice and snappy on a plain Jane 3G 8GB.

Diddo just installed an hour ago only thing i am bummed about it AOL IM is not going into landscape mode so I hope there will be an update in the works form aol.

I like it too. However I noticed slight lag when trying to switch to landscape mode in a text message. Running it on my 3G.

Only bummer I've had so far were a few free apps that won't launch. The voice enabled search is surprisingly accurate thus far. I like how it gives the green highlighted search term, with a drop down of permutations of it. Cool stuff.

How do I use the voice enabled search?

It's in the "Google Mobile App". There is a small microphone icon in the upper right. Press it and then hold the phone to your ear and say what you want to search for.

Oh okay. So it's not a feature of the OS but a feature of the Google App.

Perhaps. I thought voice input was a new thing. Ah well. Anyone care to try the Google Mobile App in a 2.2.x iPhone and report back?

Yeah voice control is a new thing but only for the 3G S not the 3G. The voice input is a feature of the Google App.

Haha I got excited when I saw you said that voice control was working fine on your 3G phone.

When u guys get this update? my iPhone says theres no update til June 16

I believe its torrent download?

Ohh i got it,but how can i search for it/ i found iphone 3.0 beta 5,is that one?

I'm assuming many people who have the update are developers and so have the pre-release developers version.

For the rest of us, why not just wait a few days for the original download from Apple instead of searching for it from torrents? You never know what it could do to your phone if you're downloading something from an unsecured source.

Just my opinion anyways
