A friend of mine here at work got a palm pre. First impressions from me are it's a nice smart phone, but it's no iPhone. Problem number one I had was keyboard and the extremly sharp edges around it when you slide it open. As cumbersome as the iPhone virtual keyboard can be, the Pre keyboard is far worse. The second gripe, the digitizer isn't nearly of the same precision as the iPhone. The gesture stuff is pretty cool very similar to the iPhone. The os is sweet, it kinda coverflows all your running apps and just swipe to scroll through them. Battery life is much much worse than the iPhone he was out of juice by 2 pm, I had 70% left. Audio player is nice but iPod mode on the iPhone destroyed it, it is a much better audio player than what you get on most phones though. Sprint's network is pretty terrible, the phone lost reception constantly, the phone will be better when verizon gets it IMO. The faster processor makes no difference right now, the OS is still having growing pains and therefore is a tad pokey. Now that apple has upped the ante with the iPhone 3GS Palms going to have to really move it on getting they're OS stable.
