Also a little update that the windows 7 starter will support more than three programs open at a time. Source.

I can't believe that there was even a consideration to limit this in the first place.

Personally, I'm going to pass. The number of times I boot up Windows in a VM won't be worth me investing in it. That said, from my experiences with 7 so far, it is a worthy upgrade for those running Vista and XP.

Yeah I think the only reason it was put into place is for netbooks.

I will definitely be upgrading my HTPC when this comes out. I've been running the RC since it was first made available and it's been working great for me. I haven't had to boot into Vista a single time and I think I just may wipe that partition altogether.

I'll be buying it for my gaming rig for sure. Tired of dual-booting with XP and Vista.

I'm pretty torn on whether or not I'll be buying it. The beta ran fairly well on my 2.4 GHz Celeron, but it had a lot of bugs. I never tried the RC, considering it says it needs at least 1 GB of RAM.

I probably won't buy it, as I need the XP version of MS paint. (The 7 version was way too different from XP's when I tried it.) And XP runs great, never had any problems with it. Don't fix what ain't broke, I guess. :p

I thought it was bad enough when I downloaded paint.net instead of gimpshop for my old man. :|

i've been using windows 7 for a couple months now and i think its a pretty worthy successor to xp, but i'll wait and see what my student discount will get me. if its not much then i won't upgrade.

Well, I'm too lazy to learn GIMP, and I don't need all that fancy stuff anyway for what I do. I could learn the W7 version if I tried, but again, laziness. ;)
