NO NET! Please Help!!!!

I have an eMac on cable internet, everything is plug and play no problems.
When I plug my new G4 laptop in, Network Status tells me I'm conected but I'm not getting anything in Email, Safari or Acquisition.

Oh god please help me!! (you can have my first born)

These are not so great suggestions, but it's worth a try at this point. Go to Preferences, then Network, and make sure "Built-in Ethernet" is selected. Try unplugging your cable modem for a minute from the wall, plug it back in. Or restart your mac with your cable modem connected to it. Or restart your mac without your cable modem connected to it, and then plug it back in.
