I am contemplating buying a iPhone 2g 4gb...the only question i really have is is that really worth it? -- I feel like 4gb wont be enough. Can I add more memory later on if I want to?

I would not buy it. Would just purchase a 3G or wait and see if a new phone gets released this summer. Then purchase the new model or the 3g model.

There is no such thing as a 4gb Iphone

Sure there is. The iPhone was first released as 4 gig and 8 gig

Yes there is. It was released alongside the 8GB version when the iPhone first came out in 2007. It was phased out shortly thereafter and the iPhone 3G introduced a 16GB model.
