Can anyone on this forum help me out here? I have a 2Wire 3800something-or-other router (at least i think that's the router) and a belkin thingy. The belkin thing (i dunno what it's for) is black and plugs into the 2wire router-thing. I'm trying to set up Transmission and open up a port for it, and I'm using the guides at portforward.com (under utorrent), and it works (i think)...but when i plug in the port number into transmission, it says the port is closed. If you need more info, just tell me. You might want to tell me how to find it too, I'm kind of a total noob at Macs.;D

You need to know which device is the modem and which is the router. You also need instructions for how to access the router's configuration webpage, which varies with each model.

I would recommend you consult the manuals that came with each device and/or the person that set them up.
