Just wondering if there was any way to search for a firewall on a Mac (os 9)

I am getting a failed connecting to our server error when trying to connect via Dialup.

I think it might be a blocked port or a Firewall blocking my connection.

I heard that all Mac 9 come with all ports blocked.

Is this true? and if it is how do i go about unblocking a port"?

Thank you for any help

OS 9 by default blocked all incoming ports. Outgoing ports, though, should not have been blocked.

If you suspect a firewall has been installed, you can use Sherlock (File > Find in the Finder) to search for "Norton" or "DoorStop" (the names of popular OS 9 firewalls.) If one is installed, the search should turn up an interface to disable it.

I'd suspect, though, that your dialup configuration is probably not correct.
