Jailbroken iPhone 3G firmware update?

I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2.1 or not. I just don't want my phone to permanently re-jail itself. I used Pwnage to unlock it originally. Has anyone with a jailbroken 3G done the upgrade yet? and if so, did you have any complications? Thanks in advance

or maybe I should wait until 3.0 which should debut this summer?

Successfully upgraded to 2.2.1 and re-applied the Jailbreak. No issues, been running like that since the jailbreak came out for 2.2.1.

Besides, seems like a long time to wait for 3.0.

I keep mine at 2.1 =) haven't had the time to update it and last time I did something I had a friend reformat it for me, again
