Build week "53" means 2008 or 2009?

Enter your serial number on this site, it should tell you the build date:

Apple Serial Number Info // Decode your Mac's serial number!

My sn: W88534NL1AX

When using: Apple Serial Number Info // Decode your Mac's serial number!

Model: - MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008)

Codename: - ?

Build Country: - Your Mac was built in Changhai, China.

Build Year: - Your Mac was built in 2008.

Build Week - Model not supported yet or invalid serial number.

Production Nr.: - Your Mac was number 1040 to be built that week.

When using: Wat is dit serienummer?

Serial number: W88534NL1AX
Name: MacBook Unibody (Late 2008)
Model: Mxxxx MacBook Alu (Late 2008) 2.4GHz
Bus speed: 1.07GHz
Screen size: 13 inch
Memory - number of slots: Please tell us how many memory (RAM) slots this machine has.
Factory: W8 (Shanghai China)
URL: Technical specifications by apple-history.com code_to_number: 4NL - W8745DT1Z63

Model introduced: 2008
Production year: 2008
Production week: 53 (January)
Production number: 5392 (within this week)

Am I to interpret that the build date was in January of 2008 or does the 53rd week mean January of 2009? Perhaps Apple uses a "build" calendar that represents the production year cycle?

Vertically or horizontally? :D

Well with a name like oak I hope they don't count your rings. It's hurt a lot, well being sawed in half and all.

Pretty much all Apple products are made in China.
