Why isnt there a dual core ib and pb? I can understand it not being in the 12" modles but the 14", 15", 17" should all be able to fit 2 G4 processors. What are your thoughts on this?

I believe it would mainly be a power consumption/heat issue to have dual processors. Now dual core would be different and I know Freestyle is developing a dual core G4. I wouldn't be surprised to see those eventually in an iBook or Powerbook....or the Mac mini.

I agree that it would make more heat and use a little more power but apple already has the best battery life in laptops. and heat wise they got a G5 in to a 2 inch deep screen so i think they can figure the heat issue out.

The iMac G5 is much larger than an iBook or PowerBook first off ;)

Secondly the iMac has 2 very large fans compared to a notebook so it's not as easy as you'd think.

yes i know but im just using that as an example from the huge processors in the G5 to the much smaller G5 in the imac. I am also just saying that if apple could do that they probably can also get 2 G4 into a laptop.
