Dual 2GHz G5 is new 'Mac speed king'
September 12, 2003 - 12:45 EDT Macworld has published its initial benchmarks on all of Apple's new Power Mac G5s. "We've tested all three models, and found them to be clearly faster than the previous generation of Power Macs," reports the magazine. "The two single-processor models are generally as fast or faster than the top-of-the-line dual-processor 1.42GHz Power Mac G4, and the dual-processor 2GHz Power Mac G5 is clearly the reigning Mac speed king by a wide margin."

"Beyond all the geeky goodies, the real question about the Power Mac G5s was whether they would actually get real work done appreciably faster. Our tests leave no doubt about it: on almost every task we threw at them, the new machines left their predecessors in the dust."
