I am curious about the time capsule's ability to store programs on it, and then run the programs via aliases on my macbook. I have fairly large programs, photoshop, and a few large games I would like to run.

If I were to run a game via alias; would it have to constantly stream from the time capsule? or will it preform fully on my macbook?

I'm just a curious uni student, looking to test the capabilities of my time capsule!

Thanks!

It would have to constantly stream from where the original file is. I wouldn't move the originals to a backup drive and delete them from the computer's HD. Since double-clicking an alias only opens the original (which is why they don't take up any space :) ), you should just keep the programs on your computer and maybe get rid of some large FILES OR FOLDERS that you don't really need.

Ok, awesome. I just wasn't sure if the computer would load the program with the alias and run it as if it were on the system, or if it would have to stream. Thanks for the answer!

Cheers! :)
