View Full Version : Triple boot without cd rom

Helo friends..installed MAC 10.5 on my macbook 2,1...series...now i wanted to install XP and Ubuntu on it...the problem i face is that my cd rom is not working....so how can i boot thru the system and install both the OS's..thought super duper will work..but no use...and i have only 1 mac...i got a router here so its a wifi zone..can any body plz help me with this....thanks...

You can try using an external CD\DVD drive which might possibly work to get XP installed. Some folks have been able to install XP from an external CD\DVD drive, others have not. Ubuntu should work though.

Best to repair or swap out the old drive, however.

You might want to download and install the free "rEFIt" boot menu-loader if you intend to triple boot. Link (http://refit.sourceforge.net/).

If you use Fusion, you can install Linux from a downloaded .ISO file or a downloaded virtual appliance. Not sure that will work without a CD/DVD, however, for a partition.
