Where im staying at the moment in Sweden we have internet going into a netgear wgt624 wireless router. The computers in the house are my macbook osx 10.5.6, a windows vista laptop and an xp laptop.
The problem:
When using the internet my connection will drop when i try to load a web page or try to download a file. Some webpages are alright then the next time you go there the connection will drop. Now when it drops it drops for everyone who is using the internet at the time and you have to unplug the router and plug it back in to get back on the net. When it drops though it stills shows as being connected to the network up in my finder bar bit.
I have plug my mac into the router and the internet works wonderfully that way but its really not something i would like to do forever!
Now i know that the firmware on the router hasnt ever been updated so im going to try that this weekend. I am guessing that the updates that say NA are just for North America as they say and cant be used here in Sweden?
Can anyone give me a good link to instructions on updating netgear firmware, i think i have a basic knowledge but as its not my router i dont want to break it.
Has anyone already experianced this and can tell me whats going on and how to fix?
