So I went to this job fair for a company who does tech support/customer service (inbound call center), for an Internet provider here.

They hired me on the spot. The girl who interviewed me told me I answered every question perfectly, and was the best interview she had all day (there must've been 100+ people there today too)

Anyways, I start on the 9th of March, after being unemployed for almost 8 months, I can finally start to lead a "normal" routine. New MBP for audio engineering maybe? :) Hehe..

Victory beer for all!

Thanks guys!

I know what it's like.. Since about... November.. I've handed out at least two or three dozen resumes with not even a single call back.

This place seemed desperate for people, because a lot of the people who also got hired were very immature/highschool-ish mentality.

I just can't wait to start, so I can start putting money away for audio engineering school.

Which one?

I might have to hit the "real world" in Sept. if I don't get into a BEd program. I don't want to look for a job in this economy.

It's called IQT (Integrated Quality Technologies). They have 3 locations in Canada. One in Trenton, one in the GTA, and one in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.

Congrats Dark and good luck with it. Some of those call center jobs can be very gratifying if you like helping out with tech support.

I tried it a few years ago on my umpteenth attempt to get out of the construction industry. Where I did Dell support was a pretty great place (just no money) while MS (and good money) bit the bullet big time. The next place I tried ended up being a sales position first and a help position second. I wasn't willing to tell half truths to get the sales, so we didn't get along too well.

Congratulations, DarkArt! Always glad to hear about people being able to find a job after being without one for a while. Good luck!

Congrats!! I'm still looking for work. I just did a couple big job interviews here. I've been unemployed since around this time 07. Really sucks allot. I've been trying to find work since then. I do little freelance work here and there when the business comes. I'm really wanting to move, my savings is gone, it's crazy.

Anyway. Hope it works out for you!

Yey! Even though I'm too young too drink, there is always room for victory beer.
I have a job with some of the highest job security you can get - McDonalds. Its true, if you think about it. Because of the harder times, people want to spend less money on their food i.e. dinner. And they go to cheaper places, like McDonalds, to get that food. Also, many people go there just because they are fat or they just like it a lot. It's the one company that looks like it just can't fail in any economy.

Thanks everyone!

I'm excited to start, but at the same time, I'm sick of call center jobs. It's kinda good, in the sense that the contract I'm on is only for 6 months, ending Sept. 11th.

My lease for this apartment is up on Sept. 1st, then I move to the big city, so it worked out nice for that reason. It'll give me enough time/money to save for moving.
