Well I use a MacBook OS X ..
There is only a CD writer, and DVD reader, but is it possible to change it to a DVD writer?

Just get an external burner. The only way to change it is to take the whole thing apart which will void your warranty and is quite difficult.

On the other hand, if it's already out of warranty, why not? You'd just have to get a slimline, slot-loading DVD burner and remove the faceplate before installing.

By the way, here are some links:

External DVD burners (you can get a large fast one or a slimline portable one that's slower, up to you)
An internal slot-loading DVD burner. Not sure if this'll work in a MacBook, but it beats paying twice as much to OWC for a similar drive.

I'd go external. Less headache, cheaper, probably faster.
