I would recommend the SB Audigy or Audigy 2... I have an Audigy2 Platinum pro in my machine since I "USED TO" do alot of audio recording on my PC (its all done on mac now)

Anyhow, audigy2 supports upto 7.1 surround so it's great for gaming or movies if you have a speaker setup to take advantage of it....

My 5.1 logitech setup sounds great through the card... I couldn't be happier with it.
