When i turn on my mac and hold down alt, it doesn't take me to the boot screen anymore, i haven't deleted the partition because vmware fusion lets me use my bootcamp partition as a virtual machine.

Whats happened?

Have you tried holding down the Option key while booting? Does that work?

Regards.

OK, sorry about the confusion (my oversight). :( Try going into System Preferences, and click on Startup Disk. You should be showing a boot option for your Macintosh HD and one for Windows (I'm assuming you're referring to booting Windows).

If it only shows your Macintosh HD and no Windows partition, then somehow the Boot Camp partition where Windows resides will no longer boot. This can sometimes occur from corruption caused by Fusion using the BC partition as a VM.

The solution is to repair the Windows partition and not access it from Fusion. Or if you wish to just use Fusion, remove the BC partition altogether and reinstall Windows within Fusion to create another VM. Some folks like to run Windows both ways, but in my opinion, it's better to do one or the other not both.

Regards.
