Sharing files with VMware and Mac issues

I am running VMware fusion on my macbook pro. I am using XP Pro. I basically use it for one program that use build wedding album pages for my photography business. They don't have a mac version : (
Anyway, when I go to save a file in the shared folder, it tells me the it is full or right protected. I am able to save the file to my documents or my pictures folder in windows, but I want to save it in the shared folder so I can access it easily on the mac side. Is there a sharing setting I am missing?
