How to watch a movie from Netflix on HDTV through Macbook?

Hi, I have just hooked up the mini DVI-to-DVI adapter and the DVI-to-HDMI digital video cable from my Macbook to my HDTV. However, the TV only shows the wallpaper on my desktop but not the movie...What to I have to do to watch my movie? If anyone can help? Thanks!

Macbook Pro 15" 2ghz/2GB/250gb/SD - White Macbook 2.16ghz/2.5GB/250GB/SD
You might need to go into the System Pref. and change the display to show on the TV.
