Internal DVD burner question

Hi everyone.
I'm new here, though not new to macs. I wonder if anyone can help me. I'm wondering if it's possible to fit an internal non mac dvd burner to my 800mhz G4 powermac. I'm thinking maybe of a sony model. There's no software with it- so can i get hold of some burning software that will work with this device? At the moment I'm running OS9 but in a coupla months I'll be upgrading to MACOSX.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

if you were already running os x, itd be cake. if theres currently another optical drive in it, you can replace it, its pretty simple, you might have trouble being in os 9 though, as far as drivers I mean.

Thanks, MacMan, I'll investigate OSX.
