Logic Pro output issue

So my band is using Logic Pro 8 and we've been doing volume tests but for some reason we can't get the track to come back out.

The volume is there because we've just tested the computer volumes and it's definitely working. Our issue is that we can't get the track to play back to us. Any ideas?

So I got the output issue all figured out but now I have an even more strange issue. Whenever I have the output set for the headphones I can't have the metronome; when I have the output set for built-in speakers, I don't any signal coming from the microphone.

Basically I can have the metronome and NOT record or I can't have the metronome and I CAN record. This is a really confusing and kind of detrimental issue for me.
