Hi

quick question, I have iMac with 1Gb ram, 35Gb HD, is it possible to upgrade to OS10.4 for upgraded programmes and security?

Yes if the iMac is using a DVD reader or you have Tiger discs on CD.

iPod touch 32gb first gen. MacBook, iBook G4 and a broken PowerBook G4 15"
If you have another mac you dont need a dvd drive. Just connect them thru firewire and use taget dik mode!:D (to do this turn on the mac with the dvd drive and plug it into the one without the dvd drive. Then turn on the mac without the dvd drive and hold "t" right when you hear the chime. It will show up as an external hard drive.
