Created a new folder on an NAS device, through Finder using AFP. Playing with the access permissions for the folder, set the "Everyone" option to "No Access" at which time the other permissions (User and Group) disappeared.
Now, cannot reset the "Everyone" permissions at all, and attempts to assign another user are all rejected, claiming "invalid user name". Tried activating Root user to see if changes are allowed and still no go. Terminal help is a confusing mess, as it evidently expects one to complete a thorough tutorial before revealing the simplest commands (I just want to know the syntax to navigate to the NAS folder and try resetting permission there)...
