How does Apple's OS know if the hardware in the configuration is actual Mac hardware or aftermarket? Is there a chip on the motherboard or is it actually coded into the system that "this motherboard is mac?" If anyone has any clue I would love to be informed. Thanks

Just a warning as I am not sure where this thread may go. No discussion of OSX on a PC is not allowed here at Mac Forums. It's against Apples EULA and thus against the rules here at Mac Forums.

PC's use a Bios. The Mac uses EFI Firmware.

If you want OSX, get a Mac. OSX is what makes a Mac a Mac.

Sorry, I didn't mean to infer that. I had no intentions of that, I was just wondering. Thank you.
