I need to reformat my USB but I cant with Disk Utility. It says it access denied whenever I try to format or erase with Disk Utility. I have search and searched and I am VERY unhappy. :Shouting:

How can I wipe my USB?

What make and model is it?

Don't want this to sound patronising but it doesn't have a physical write-protect switch does it?

If Disk Utility is denying access to the drive it's probably because the drive is formatted as NTFS or it has a drive lock switch which prevents writing. Check closely and let us know. Disk Utility can erase and re-format NTFS but requires a few more steps.

Regards.
