I was wondering... if my macbook comes with a 120 gb hd, how come when I open disk utility and click on (My name) HD it only says 80 GB? and the Hitachi says 120? Why is this?

Erm... I have 160GB, some of which you lose in formatting, so practically I have 138GB of space that I can use. Losing 40GB is a bit much though...
