Hey rman, topic says it all.

I work for Custom Server Support, which is a part of IBM Global Services. We are also just taking on Backup Operations Support. Basically I guess we are AIX admins. We get root on HUGE productions servers :)

Of course this is a major responsibility, of which I will not, and must not abuse :)

Gotta love working with machines that are physically bigger than you :)

I am part of Unix Midrange Servers Group of IGS. I am currently working on two contracts as a Unix System Administrator. The Boeing contract which is about to end in couple of months and the other is for the government. I work mainly on workstations of various favors; sgi, Sun, IBM, HP, and some others.

During this support is when I have to us a PC to access the IBM network. :(

I do work on servers also. The other project I maintain AIX Tivoli servers.

And yes some of the SP2 frame are quite large in size. :)

So, Emrys how is the job coming. My Boeing contract end next week. I am preparing to jump onto the other contract full time. This contract is mainly IBM (AIX) server and Sun (Solaris) servers.

It is going good. 12 hour days are long :)

I do mostly AIX Support, and some other stuff :)

But I get a lot of days off, so that is cool...

Are you on call. Looking at those twelve hours days, I would hope you get to turn the pager off.
