G5 and wireless reception

Currently transfering over from a G4 to G5, One thing i've noticed is how poor the airport card signal is with my wireless network.

Previously the G4 was full signal strength but the G5 is 3 only if i open the side panel or none with it closed.

Maybe due to the G4 being plastic, G5 metal ?

Is there a way of boosting this signal at all , ie external antenna ?

I found the T piece antenna to be missing from the rear of the G5.

Now works like a dream on my wireless network.
