Leaving for China

I'm off to Taiwan in about 10 hours for Computex 2008!! I've got a Hong Kong side trip thrown in sometime this week. As you can tell, this is going to be very exciting

I have a packed schedule and not 100% certain about Internet availability, so if I can't pop in while I'm there, I'll see you guys in a week

The show is in Taiwan, and I'm not exactly getting 5 star accommodations, which is why I'm still skeptical. I'll be taking an Ethernet cable just in case

As for pictures, do you even have to ask? ;D

Take an umbrella with you - heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the whole week here in HK. There was also an earthquake in Taiwan overnight but no reports of any serious damage. Regarding Internet connections - hotels often charge for in-room Internet connections in Asia, often with a 24-hour charge (meaning it starts now and ends 24 hours later in one fixed lump). There is often FOC wi-fi access in the lobby of hotels, however. Failing that look for a Starbucks or other coffee outlet where you will either find wi-fi or an FOC (PC) computer to use.

Sitting at the airport, got about an hour till boarding begins. Until then, I get to enjoy ad supported Wi-Fi

Getting to the airport early is always fun. The check in and security lines were short, I got to pick out some magazines, and even had a proper breakfast with eggs and milk.

I also really enjoy morning airport trips. It is always pretty quiet and mellow.

Though I also like to watch people scrambling for their flight while I am chilling reading a book
