Very interesting composition. I really like it :D

The spacing works well. A lot of times, the tight crop is ideal, but I think the spacing around the subject(s) is excellent.

The fact that it is a bit tilted also adds to the abstract feeling to the composition.

Overall, I love it.

Though, I'll be honest. For some reason, the right shoe is a little distracting for some reason. I think it might have been better if it was rotated a bit more naturally, and it might've looked interesting if the lady was looking at the camera out of her left eye, but this is being too picky.

Great work!

I know bees are old hat, but I wanted to test the capabilities of the camera - Fujifilm Finepix S5700. Resized in Gimp, no touching up as I wanted it to be seen as I took it.
I'm fairly happy, the camera did well but I think I focussed onto the flower not the bee.

Taken today 7th June

Cheers :) :)

great shot.
how are you making your border in cs3?

i am using cs2 currently and get this border when i do the following (Select->All.
Edit->Stroke.
Enter a value for the width of the border.
Use the default setting of Center for the location.)

http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v286/213/71/22620921/n22620921_34091465_8750.jpg

id like to have a border without the fade, but cant figure a way out.

sorry for hijacking this thread momentarily:D

The fade is due to the "feather"

When you go the select-all, hit ctrl+alt+d or whatever the equivalent is to Mac, (or go to select-modify-feather) and set the value to 0.

Feather will fade the edges as the number goes up.

Then you can go back to edit-stroke and proceed!

Best,
-AC

I like that shot. I have some friends wanting portraits, and I didn't think of one like that. What did you do for lighting?

Wow, missed this thread this month...

Oh well! Here's my entry: After 3 days of 28°C, we had a typical bavarian storm early this evening. They only usually last about an hour or so, but boy did the skies open:

Nikon D300 18-200VR lens. I was getting some shots of him foraging in the grass, when a woman came by from the side and made him jump towards me. I went rapid-fire for several seconds and got this one of him fully laid-out.

Of course I HAD to put the cape on him!
