ok i'm slowly getting to grips with OSX but i'm baffled by this;
I've connected my old PC HD and mounted it (ooooeeerr) it shows all my old windows and files. i have imported all my photos and music etc. to the mac HD and now want to delete the said files from the HD. But..... it wont let me delete them form the PC HD as they are read only files/folders. if i "get info" it says they are read only and for the life of me i can't see where to change the file/folder property to read/write. what is the best method? in the terminal?

pulling what little hair i had out of my head....

You cannot write or delete an NTFS disk, you can only read from it

You have 2 options, install software that lets you write to an NTFS disk

Reformat the drive to FAT32 or Mac HFS+

this makes sense now.... i guess i'll just have to take all the good bits and reformat it and use it as a backup HDD

thanks for the quick response people.
