Western Digital External HDD

Hi guys,

I'm looking at buying the following External HDD simply because it looks nice and tidy and is relatively cheap, however, i was previously looking at buying a different WD HDD only to find the macbook usb port didnt provide enough bus power to run the thing (it needed 1000mA)...i only found this out by reading one of the reviews at the bottom of the page, and so basically i was wondering if anyone knew whether this HDD required the same power supply, becuase i cant seem to find out anywhere.

has anyone had any success with this drive on a macbook or similar mac laptop? because if i had the open choice this would be the one id go for.

I could go for this one, then get one of these:

but seeing as there's no reviews for it im a little hesitant as to its reliability. Has anyone had any experience with either of these products?
