Hi all

I took some photos at Maroubra Beach (Sydney's East) on the weekend. Here are a few... pls share any that you may have as well.

I'm assuming you've never been to the Northern Beaches of Sydney... because all of them (even the bad ones!) are better than Maroubra! =P IMO at least... lol

Oh, and Bondi has to be THE worst beach in Sydney. I don't get the whole tourist attraction thing... it's just not a good beach! =\

aaaannyway, you got some decent shots! I especially like the first and fourth. Here's a tip though: To add interest, put the subject somewhere other than the center of the photo, and if you can (I know it's hard), get in closer. You'll find the surfer is lost in the surf otherwise ;D

Have been north mate, plenty of times. It's just a bit far from where I am for regular trips.

Collaroy is my favourite up that way. And yes, it is very comparable to the 'Bra.

I shot that with a 45-150mm zoom. I'm looking at getting a 70-300mm lens, that should help to get me closer to the action ;D

Haha, when I was thinking the worst beach I was thinking either Collaroy or Manly XD

I grew up around Mona Vale and Warriewood, so I love those beaches =P

Big zoom is always a plus... make sure you get a decent one though - I have a 70 - 300mm zoom but it's ultra slow the focus is always pretty soft...

Shame those poor old bunnies aren't looking as nice as your shots. Come further north to mid North Coast for even better.

Look nice. That beach look very nice too. I like 2 and 4. 3 would be really nice if he was doing something other than looking like falling.
