    GarageBand, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are now free for Mac and iOS
    As the title says... Those apps are now free for everyone not just new owners of a Mac or iOS Device.

    Only when you purchased a new computer otherwise pay for via the App Store/iTunes.
    Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

    Not true. As Harry said, it (GB) and the iWork apps were only free when purchasing a new Mac or iPhone/iPad. Now, they're free for everyone.
