Hey all!

So I decided to upgrade my macbook... I'm going to buy a 21' flat screen monitor, 2G of RAM, and hopefully try and get at least 200G HDD if it will fit?

Can anyone tell me what's the biggest HDD I can get that will fit in my macbook and also which is the best video card I can buy for around 100-200 dollars? I am just planning on playing WoW again but I really want it to be a smooth experience.

Thanks!

250GB but from my experience I wouldn't go above 160GB at the moment.

You can't upgrade the GFX, they are built in.

Agreed with Alex. The largest of the SATA Laptop drives out there is probably 5400 RPM. I would go with a slightly smaller but 7200 RPM drive and if you need more space later just get a large external and hook it up Firewire.

Neither the Macbook nor Macbook Pro's video can be upgraded. It's part of the main board and in the case of the Macbook, part of the Intel Chipset on the board.

WOW I am told plays on a MB but with lower settings. There is nothing you can do to the Macbook to allow WOW to play at Maximum settings and smooth as silk. I am just impressed it plays it as well as some say it does with Intel Integrated Video!!

:( Oh well... I guess RAM will help it a bit.

If anyone can suggest a specific HDD to get that would be excellent.

Thanks a ton guys.

RAM will help and get as much as the MB takes which is 2GB.

This drive is very pricy but if you want the speed of a 7200 RPM drive and as large a drive as you can get in 7200 this will do the job.

Hope that helps.

This is all the SATA 2.5" 7200 drives New Egg has in stock.

ROFL my bad. 21"... I wish... that reminds me... for anyone who's interested, go to Youtube and type in "Best computer set up"... this guy is crazy

Thanks again, Dennis!

I think I'm going to go ahead and buy that first Hitachi... I've heard other users talk about it and it seems great.
