Superdrive makes weird noise, is it normal?

Hi guys, just got my Macbook in today and I have to say that my feelings are mixed. But that's beside the point. My main question is if it is normal for the superdrive to make really strange sounds when inserting or ejecting a disc. I know that its hard to describe sounds, but it just seems that it should be a lot quieter than it is.

My MacBook superdrive also makes noise, but that's to be expected. I don't find the noise "strange."

Remember that slot-loading drives have a motor to assist in loading/unloading your discs, so you're likely to hear something as it's pulling or pushing the disc.
