UHM...how is it cheaper to install 1gb memory yourself???

well, first of all, you'll need two 512Mb sticks for 1Gb of memory in a macbook, since they should be (might actually have to be) installed in matching pairs.

bestbuy may not be the best place to buy memory... check prices on cnet or newegg.

you also get to keep the other memory, whcih you can turn around and sell.

i think it tends to be a bit cheaper as you install 2Gb
