Hello there,
I’m new here so pardon any oddities in my post.
I have had my 1.83 MBP in for service twice. Both times were for an awful grinding noise from the Right Fan area.
The first time they changed the Main Logic Board.--Didn’t help at all
The second time they changed both fans.--so far so good
My question is whether the new parts are simple replacements of the defective models or whether they are new models with the flaws fixed. I’m not too confident in my machine anymore. If the replaced parts were improved models and not simple replacements I would feel much better about my machine.
Thank you for any thoughts.

If I were to hazard a guess. I would say they just replaced the fans. the only way you are going to know what they did, is to ask them. I know if Apple can not fix the problem after three tries I believe, they replace the hardware. So I would not worry about anything.

Thank you for writing,
I must say Apple Care has been great. Very understanding and helpful. My problem is that Im using my Mac for my dissertation research and the fact that its failed twice in like 2 months does make me nervous and frankly unhappy with my purchase.
Again, thank for the reply.
