OK, so I buy our 12" iBook from the refurbished store. It comes with 512 mb of RAM built in.

I purchase another 512 from Datamem and get ready to install.

Directions say to take out the keyboard and them remove the RAM shield underneath.

The problem is that 2 of the 4 screws are stripped! They will not move, the screwdriver just spins. What should I do?

Part of me wants to take my dremel and grind them out, but I don't want metal chips flying around the open computer.

Help!

Did you get this from an Apple store Refurbished? If so I would make them take care of it since you just got it and a Refurbished Mac has a full warranty.

If not, What I sometimes do is use a very small driver and pry underneath the head of the screw while turning. It works most of the time for me.
