I decided it was time to sell my old MacBook Pro 15" (Mid 2010) and discovered it had been peed on by my cat while it had been laying around my apartment! Yes, gross. I opened it up and cleaned it best I could, but there is a ton of crusted gross cat pee all up in it. It does not boot up or seem to take a charge, the mother board is probably toast. The affected area does not seem to reach the HDD which I have removed and assume still works. I'd like to try and sell the machine for parts if I can, but want to wipe the HDD first.
Here's my question for the computer MacGyvers out there: How can I access this HDD with it outside of the computer? Is there maybe a cable I can purchase to plug this internal drive into another computer externally? Can I install it in my newer MBP which is a 15" (2012) model?
Any recommendations on how to proceed would be much appreciated, thank you!
