Hi there!

Mi first post with heavy question.

I want to disable(shutdown) without close the lid. the main screen of my macbook pro Retina 15" late 2013 when i connect a External Display. I thought that it could be easy, but im breaking my head looking how to.

I check severals ways, but no one works.

Terminal Way:sudo nvram boot-args="iog=0x0"
Magnet Way: I saw someone in youtube but with early models, maybe trying with a SuperMaget :\

There is anyway to do this?

Thx and sorry for my english from the mountains :D

Is turning the brightness all the way down a usable solution? I don't think that there's any "non-hackish" way to do this.

i'm already doing this.

But don't think that resolve the "performance" issue. I think that my Graphic Card is rendering 2 displays at the same time 4k+retina display.

Am i Wrong?

I didn't know that this was causing any performance issue (it wasn't mentioned initially).

Take a look here if you're using Mavericks (10.9).
