i'm a PC user and i decided to take a step forward into the new Macbook pro 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo . my question as a webdesigner is about the performance. i work a lot with big images, sounds and videos...

i was just wondering if it would be fast as i'm expecting.

i used a PB G4 once and i liked it a lot....

Native programs will blow the PowerBook G4 away in terms of performance. The trick is whether the programs you plan to use will be native or not. iMovie, GarageBand, and the rest of iLife is native, so videos and sounds shouldn't be an issue; in fact the speed at which you'll be able to work with them will blow you away I dare say. Now when you say you like to work with large images, what do you mean? My only reservation there would be that Photoshop is not yet native and therefore won't run as fast as a PowerBook G4 would handle it. Still, in early 2007 CS3 (native) should be out and even that won't be an issue. Check to see if the apps you'll be using are native or not.

the powerbook would should have no issue AT ALL with cs2.. as long as you have the ram for it.
