From what i have just read about this SSD is its used in conjunction WITH another HD being the one in your Mac or another SSD. The reason it is so small, is because its used as a Cached SSD, meaning, your Mac HD does all the work, and the SSD is used to save/cache certain data from what the Mac HD is processing. Have a read of this review in OverClockers and look at the system Requirements. It talks Windows ?? So with the Software on the SSD to Connect it to a HD is DataPlex or similar.

Also read this too and you make a decision. Personally i would be looking for something like this OWC 44GB SSD or this OWC 120GB SSD or OWC 60GB SSD ALL from a Mac reputable seller. I would pay $109 for a OWC than $60 for a brand im not comfortable with

EDIT : I highly recommend this seller and even the KINGSTON Brand is a good Mac brand. OWC test ALL their hardwre before they sell it, and from personal experience, they have very good customer service and very good return policy.
I use the Aust Equivalent and i returned a broken SlimDrive for a Superdrive and i emailed them, and they put the money for the postage into my account, and sent me out a new one before the old one was there, because i sent it registered post, and gave them the tracking number.
OWC work like this as well.

should i just go on ahead and buy a hard drive. i feel really uncomfortable spending mor than $60.
im willing to put up with 64 gb for an ssd, but i could get a new 120 gb hard drive for $40, what should i do

Suggest you look at this one, made in USA, backward compatible with your 1GB/s SATA MacBook and with three year warranty:-

OWC OWCSSDEX3G060 60GB Mercury Electra 3G SSD 2.5"... in stock at OWC
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Why do you want/need an SSD? SSD's are certainly more expensive (cost/gigabyte). If you want more storage...then you will certainly get more if you purchase a "regular" hard drive.

In my opinion if you're on a tight budget (which it sounds like you are)...maybe getting the larger "regular" HD is the way to go. What if you find out later on that a 64gig SSD is too small?...then you're going to need something else. Then your cost will be $60 for the SSD + the cost of something else later...which adds up to more $$$ spent overall.

    Food for thought,

i just wanna be sure, i have the money for a ssd i found, im just uncomfortable paying more than 60 dollars before i know its worth it, i found a samsung 840 120GB ssd for $90 (ad in link) , does that sound worth the the cost because will it do a lot of good in a white macbook, after this i will shut up

Well at the end of the day, a SSD has nothing but benefits over a slow old mechanical drive anyday IMO and that Samsung looks the goods.
If your happy to buy off Ebay, (bc we gave you links to a SSD from OWC for $90) then go ahead, but buyer beware.
I prefer going through OWC because of their return Policy and customer service but if you happy and theu do have 100% then go for it

My new SSD is amazing, its a great choice, I went with the ebay samsung 840, it was factory sealed and i saved $20. I'm pretty sure the 3 year warranty applies, but still, this is a speed demon.
