Trying to revive a dead mac

My old MBP 15" died a few months ago and I'm looking to try to get it back up, if possible. What happens is that when I boot it up it sits on the white screen with spinning wheel for a while then eventually just blacks out. I ran it in safe mode and .. here's a pic of the result.

Looks like the hard disk is at fault

Try booting from the restore DVD and repair from there

If that fails its a replacement hard drive

I'd also go with replacing the HD
