Hi,
I'm sure it was posted here, but my internet slow and I couldn't search for some reason.
I have a 13" macbook pro..maybe 3 years old so the battery shouldn't be too bad for a laptop without an option to replace the battery.

But I am noticing a very reduced capacity for holding a charge. It's still okay, but I do a lot of travel overseas and I'm afraid that it will only get worse when I am away from home.

How are people dealing with this? mac store replacement or recalibrate or something?
thanks
Micah

article says this battery does not need calibration?

Hello,
thanks for passing on the info...I checked it out to see the recommended steps for calibrating as I am hoping this will solve my problem, but it says
"
Current Apple portable computer batteries are pre-calibrated and do not require the calibration procedure outlined in this article. These computers use batteries that should be replaced only by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

"

I have the macbook pro with the built in battery, so I'm assuming that this article does not relate to my computer. Thus said, I guess it couldn't hurt and will try to calibrate anyways...but I have done this every now and again naturally anyways..running the battery all of the way down and leaving it on sleep mode for a while and then re-charging.

It sounds like this may not be a common problem for macbook pro users? I thought that the battery times on these were not supposed to run down (hence the non-replaceable battery)

Older user replaceable batteries were supposed to be good for 300 cycles...the newer non-user replaceable batteries are supposed to be good for 1000 cycles.
