When I power up my macbook I get the small light on the front turn on for a while, there's no normal start up noises then it goes off. I rang a PC repair company, and the guy said to hold down the power button for 10seconds without any power source then try again, and this worked the first time. Now it just won't work. Can anyone Help. It's a Macbook 13" (2008) I think.

Thanks, Brett.

How about trying another MagSafe Adapter Charger? Have you done that? And, what's the condition of the battery? Will it run off battery?

It all charges fine, and the battery will run it, but it refused to turn on, now it will turn on every now and then.

Could be the power supply itself or something as simple as the power on off switch. You'll have to do some disassembling to get at both. Go to iFixit: The free repair manual and take a look at their take apart instructions for your 2008 MacBook. If you feel you don't want to do the work yourself, take it to an authorized Apple repair - dealer or your local Apple store. Get an estimate first before deciding to repair it.

are you powering from the power or from the battery. my 2007 MacBook eats the battery or should i say the power supply eats the battery so that i have to replace every six months. once the battery is dead, i get a similar thing, no response.
