Dear All,
I have a MacBook Air. My problem is that when i get connected to the internet my wi fi signal is perfect for a few minutes, after that i can hardly connect until the signal disappears, after a few minutes its back on and off again.
Is there a way to amplify the signal? it looks like the signal dies out.

There are ways to amplify Wi-Fi signals - but they may not be solutions you want to explore - unless you absolutely have to.

It will be helpful if you characterize the problem in a more detailed manner. I'm going to assume you're using 802.11g? If not please say so. How far are you from your wireless router? When you say you "can hardly connect" - what do you mean? Are you saying the speed seems to slow down - or does your indicator on your menu bar indicate that you're disconnected?

When you say other products work fine - please be more specific. For instance - in the same location - your iPad connects fine and stays connected while your Air does not?

Troubleshooting wireless issues via the net can be guesswork sometimes - so the more information you can provide - the more educated our guesses become. :)

From our testing here, we have determined that the MBA does have about 5-10% less signal strength than the MacBook Pros from last year. So our executives who have window offices, and are farther away from our wireless access points, began having wireless drop-offs when switched to the Airs from their old Pros. We ended up moving a wireless access point closer to the executive offices, and the issue was resolved. I guess a good test would be to move closer to your wireless access point and see if the signal continues to bounce, or if it steadies out. If it's still fading in and out, then range and signal strength isn't the issue.
