    Macbook Pro for Editing Pics/Movies
I have been debating about buying a second computer as a HTPC for a while now. I had been set on a Mac Mini but then searching Clist found some great deals on older Macbook Pros. I am currently looking at this:

    Core Duo
    Ati 256MB RAdeon

Here's my question. When editing movies with FCE will this MBP be faster than my new 2.4 13in MBP? Shouldn't it be faster/better since it (supposedly) has a better gfx card? I'm out of my element here, please help.

That machine is Core duo and not core 2 duo so you are instantly losing 64 bit compatibility and the ATI x1600 GPU were slow back then and are pretty old. The new 13" will be much faster. It has a newer more efficient CPU, better GPU and DDR3. The only thing that is better at is having a bigger screen.
