Amigos,
My wife has a MacBook 13.3" MC207LL/A. I bought it for her November 2009. The trackpad is slowly (but surely) taking a huge turn for the worst. Basically any function (click, drag, slide, etc.) does not work other than at the dead center of the pad.
I am inclined to believe it is not a software problem whatsoever (I could be wrong.. I'm not a doctor). After hours of researching the issue I've come up with the two potential problems plaguing this machine. The battery is 'distorted' resulting in stressed circuitry within the trackpad... I don't really think this is the issue (again, I could be wrong). I believe the trackpad just needs replacing.
I've found one here:
MacBook 13" Unibody Trackpad
Could someone please confirm this is the correct trackpad.
Furthermore, I have no idea how to put this thing in. I know you have to remove the battery to get to the trackpad itself. The only thing is, this particular model of MacBook is a paaaaiiiin. The battery doesn't just... pop out. One has to rip the thing apart to do so.. And here is where I get hung up.
Anyone out there gone through this before? I sure could use a step-by-step guide on replacing this. Thank you all in advance.
